Before you travel

Advice that makes the journey easier

Umrah

Before traveling, be sure to strengthen your intentions and prepare yourself spiritually by reading books or listening to lessons about the Hajj and Umrah rituals. It’s also a good idea to walk daily to accustom your body to movement.

Make sure to carry a comfortable and lightweight ihram, a small bag for personal items, essential medications such as painkillers, and a bottle of water to stay hydrated.

Try to perform Tawaf and Sa’i at less crowded times, such as after Fajr prayer or during the afternoon, to avoid heavy crowds.

Hajj and Umrah are spiritual experiences that require patience and cooperation with others, so stay calm and avoid unnecessary pushing or arguments.

Eat light, balanced meals and avoid fatty foods that can cause fatigue. Drink plenty of water, especially in hot weather.

Don’t forget to prepare a list of supplications for yourself and your loved ones — Hajj and Umrah are a great opportunity for supplications that will be answered, God willing.

Live in the moment and enjoy the spirituality. Don’t be distracted by photography or checking social media all the time; focus on your relationship with God.

Make the most of your time by visiting holy sites such as the Cave of Hira, Mount Uhud, and the Prophet’s Mosque to enhance your religious and historical knowledge.

Act politely and be a role model in treating others well. Hajj and Umrah are not just rituals, but an opportunity to gain reward through good manners and humility.
